Every fall, it surprises me.
The sun sets earlier, and somehow I expect
myself to accomplish the same amount in less daylight.
I don’t know why.
Nature slows down.
The trees let go.
The days get shorter.
Yet I keep expecting myself to operate like
it’s the middle of June.
Maybe that’s why this season can feel so
exhausting.
I’ve started asking myself a different
question.
Instead of “How do I fit it all in?”
I ask, “What actually deserves my energy
today?”
There’s a difference.
